Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of world's most ancient and delightful holiday of Navruz has met with the representatives of the intelligentsia of the country.

This meeting has been held at the Kokhi Borbad complex.

The meeting was attended by numerous representatives of the intelligentsia of the country, permanent representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan and the guests of the member countries of the international Symposium of Writers of Navruz area.

The meeting of the President of the country Emomali Rahmon with the representatives of intelligentsia was of particular difference, because the meeting was attended by many well-known writers and cultural figures from special countries.

Chairman of the Writers' Union of Tajikistan Nizom Qosim Puri Jahangir opened the International Symposium and gave the floor to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon.

President Emomali Rahmon congratulated those present and glorious people of Tajikistan, foreign compatriots on the occasion of the blessed Navruz holiday. 

President Emomali Rahmon on behalf of the hospitable people of Tajikistan welcomed the guests of the International Symposium of Writers of Navruz area.

It was stressed that the celebration of the International Navruz in our country and the beginning of the International Scientific Symposium "Navruz in world literature and art," in which the most important questions of the formation and evolution of the International Navruz will be discussed, is the perfect herald of spring.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon noted the importance of merited scholars, writers and artists of the world in matters of propaganda to the world community of peace-loving humanist traditions of Navruz as well as enhancing the role and status of the king's feast.

President of the country, recalling the worthy merits of Tajik classical and contemporary poets, said that it was thanks to their tireless efforts favorite quality of Navruz, which has more than 6 thousand year history, serve mankind for a happy and dignified life, supplementing them with new active traditions and symbols.

In his speech, President of the country Emomali Rahmon stressed that Navruz is not associated with any religion and sect, it is a cultural feast, consisting of humanitarian and peace-loving traditions, ceremonies, and it was through these distinctive features that Navruz has become a mass merrymaking feast.

The President noted that the purpose of the invitation to Tajikistan of numerous well-known scientists and writers from around the world and literary symposium is to promote at the international community the importance of the culture of this international celebration and its humanitarian traditions. This international symposium will also contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations and literature, and create conditions to its participants discussed important issues of literature.

It was stressed that one of the famous symbols of Navruz is holding poetry festival. It should be noted about UNESCO's decision to celebrate "World Poetry Day".

Regarding the value of poetry and words of the Head of State it was noted that the Government of the country with the aim of presenting to the current generation of heritage of great writers from the Reserve Fund of the President has prepared for edition a fifty tome edition "Stars of the literature" and the best examples of the work of poets and writers has been published.

At the end of his speech President Emomali Rahmon gave his blessing and expressed hope for the International Navruz holiday to bring abundance to the Tajik people.
