Signing of a number of new documents on cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia

As a result of inter-state negotiations, the Joint Statement of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the results of the official visit has been adopted. The Joint Statement says that Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the Tajik side for the warm reception and invited the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for an official visit to the Russian Federation at his convenience. Then, 6 new cooperation documents have been signed in the presence of the heads of the two states, including:

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the sphere of environmental protection;

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the military postal courier communication;

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes;

- Agreement between the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of labor and employment;

- Memorandum between the Committee for Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the sphere of physical culture;

- Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for 2017.

At the press conference the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with the results of meetings and negotiations at the highest level.

It was stressed that the reached agreements and the newly signed documents will actively contribute to the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia in all priority areas.
