Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank Ashok Kumar Lahiri.
Current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation have been reviewed at the meeting.
Much attention was focused on the programme of cooperation between Tajikistan and ADB for 2012-2014 which is being developed. As it was mentioned, this programme will provide for 250 million USD investments in Tajikistan. These funds will be aimed at improvement of network of roads and transport, energy security, enhancement of private sector and regional cooperation.
It was stressed that particular attention will be paid to the development of cooperation in energy and transport spheres with consideration of opportunities for linking relevant networks of Tajikistan with Afghanistan and Pakistan and other countries of Central Asia.
