The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the 20th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between two states, which reads in part:

“Azerbaijan highly appreciates the strong relations of friendship and cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan, which existed over the past years. I would like to note with satisfaction that over the past twenty years we could comprehensively enhance traditional relations of friendship and brotherhood between our countries.

We intend to further expand our bilateral political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other relationships on the basis of principle of reciprocity. I am firmly confident that as a result of our joint efforts the cooperation between our countries will further develop and strengthen for the good of our peoples”.
