The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon presided over a session of the government today.

The​ meeting began with a​ discussion of​ the​ implementation of the government decree dated October 28, 2016 “On the​ Development Program of Industry of​ Seed Farming in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2016 - 2020." Minister of Agriculture Amonullo Salimzoda delivered a corresponding report.

Other issues discussed include the agricultural development, in particular land-use efficiency, harvesting campaign, supplying the domestic market with quality and organic local products, stockpiling of food and fuel for the winter period, and the timely provision of salaries and pensions.

While discussing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on​ the economy, President Rahmon gave specific instructions to officials regarding eliminating the shortcomings, making extensive and effective use of all available opportunities, and carrying out explanatory work among the population on the production and storage of sufficient foodstuffs and observance​ of sanitary rules.
