Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the conversation, the sides focused on issues of ensuring regional security.
In this regard, the Presidents discussed the alarming situation that is developing today in neighboring Afghanistan, especially in its northern and northeastern provinces, along the perimeter of which the state border of the two countries with Afghanistan runs.
The leader of the nation informed the President of Uzbekistan about the new facts of the forced crossing of the state border line by military personnel of the government forces of Afghanistan.
In this context, the situation on the border with this country was assessed as very tense.
The parties reaffirmed the readiness of the parties to further coordinate cooperation between security agencies and law enforcement agencies in the security sphere, especially in strengthening the protection of the border with Afghanistan.
During the conversation, certain topical issues of a regional and international character were also discussed.
