On July 8, within the framework of a working visit to Sughd Province, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, held a working meeting in the city of Khujand with the leadership of the region and its cities and districts.

During the meeting, the results of socio-economic development of Sughd Province during the first 6 months of 2023 were discussed, and tasks for the second half of the year were determined.

The President of the country concluded the working visit, which took place from July 5 to 8 in a number of cities and districts of the region, and discussed the state of social and economic development of the region and upcoming tasks.

It was emphasized that the current state of the world, severe political and military confrontations in some countries and regions of the planet, climate change and its serious consequences - drought and successive shortages are making the life of the people of the planet increasingly difficult, especially in terms of food supply.

In relation to the situation of the international community, the Head of State considered it necessary that the full implementation of the strategic goals and the Action Plan of the Government of the country to prevent the impact of potential risks on the national economy should be the duty of every vigilant individual.

It was emphasized that today the harvesting season continues, therefore farmers and every family should pay first attention to harvesting and storing agricultural products, including food for the winter season.

Leaders and specialists of Sughd Province and its cities and districts were obliged to carry out re-sowing and get 3-4 harvests from the water lands.

In order to meet the requirements of the investment environment, the leadership of Sughd Province and its cities and districts were instructed to control the investment, the effective implementation of state investment projects, and to take strict measures to eliminate the shortcomings in the implementation of some projects.

Taking into account the goal of the rapid industrialization of the country, the executive bodies of state power of the region and its cities and districts were obliged to strengthen the work to attract as much foreign direct investment as possible.

The National Bank and other credit organizations were instructed by the Head of State to take timely measures to increase credit, including providing loans to industrial enterprises, especially to remote areas.

According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the rate of development of production in some mineral processing enterprises, coal industry and light industry is decreasing.

Therefore, the leaders of the executive bodies of state power of Sughd Province and its cities and districts were obliged to expand their activities in order to correct the existing situation, as well as in the direction of organizing enterprises for the processing of raw materials, the production of final products, and increasing the export of products.

As part of the Action Plan for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of state independence in Sughd Province, the construction and restoration of 12,000 structures and buildings, including 700 new production enterprises and workshops with more than 14,000 jobs, has been planned, and 26 percent of the plan has been implemented so far.

According to the analysis, the state of implementation of the improvement and construction action plan in a number of cities and districts of the region is slow, which requires the officials to take necessary and timely measures.

President Emomali Rahmon ordered the heads of Sughd Province and its cities and districts, together with the leaders of the working groups on development and construction works, to put the implementation of the Action Plan for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the state's independence under serious and constant control, in order to hand over the facilities within the specified deadlines.

It was instructed that development and construction works, first of all, should focus on the establishment of factories and production plants, creation of new jobs, construction of necessary infrastructure, first of all, social infrastructure, construction of structures and buildings with high architectural art, and in this process increase focus on the economic activity of the population.

Leaders and officials of Sughd Province, its cities and districts and ministries and agencies were instructed to take measures for the comprehensive preparation of social and economic fields, first of all, educational and health institutions and the population for the autumn and winter period of 2023-2024.

At the end of the speech, the President of the country wished success to the leadership, activists and residents of the region in protecting national and state interests, raising the feeling of patriotism, hard work and compliance with service discipline.

After the speech of the President of Tajikistan, the chairman of Sughd Province Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and the heads of a number of cities and districts of the region reported to the Head of State on the results of the socio-economic development of the region.
