Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon addressed the Tajik people on television on the occasion of the twenty-first anniversary of the State Independence of the country.

Tajik President noted that twenty-one years ago a historic event took place in our ancient land, which brought about absolute and fundamental evolution in the destiny of its people. In this regard, President Emomali Rahmon heartily and proudly congratulated the noble people of Tajikistan and the compatriots abroad on the occasion of this great national holiday.

The leader of Tajikistan highlighted that the Independence is considered to be the most valuable achievement of the culture- and peace-loving Tajik people and of the state of Tajiks at the end of the last century. In his congratulatory address Emomali Rahmon also stressed that “when we talk about the crucial role of the Independence in the life of society and state, we should never ignore the issue of national unity and solidarity, as well as significance and necessity of protection of this absolutely sacred good of our people. As, he continued, solidarity of the nation, peace and unity, political and social stability are among the foundation pillars of the great palace of independence, the source of happiness of the Tajik people and the guarantor of sustainable development of Tajik state”.
