Today, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Chief of Staff of the World Bank Laura Frigenti.
The issues of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and the World Bank have been considered at the meeting.
Laura Frigenti, who will assume the position of World Bank Regional Vice President on Europe and Central Asia autumn this year, informed that her visit’s goal is to hold meetings with leaders of Central Asian countries and immediate acquaintance with issues of cooperation and the ways to support the development of this region.
Particular attention was paid to priority sectors of cooperation with Tajikistan, including issues related to climate change, ensuring sufficient access to water and electricity power, support of food security, creation of new jobs and in general improvement of living standards of population.
It was expressed confidence that further cooperation will become more fruitful and actively facilitate the rapid socio-economic growth of Tajikistan.
