Important regional issues in the fields of politics, security, economy, trade, investment, energy, transport, communication, science ad culture have also been discussed during the second quadrilateral meeting of the presidents of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, Iran Hassan Ruhani and Pakistan Mamnun Hussein.
President Emomali Rahmon hailed "construction of modern network of power transmission, gas, drinking water, railways and roads vitally and geoeconomically important for four countries" and stressed that: "It is necessary to construct and renovate sooner and with high quality the linking roads between the four countries, so that the role of our crossroads and transit countries be enhanced in the regional and interregional cooperation".
Head of Tajik state proposed "to set up the Forum of Economic, Cultural and Security Cooperation between the four countries".
At the end of his speech President Emomali Rahmon invited heads of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan to attend in September the next summit of SCO heads of state to be held in Dushanbe.
