Today, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj who visited Dushanbe as the head of one of observer states to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for participation in the Summit of the Organization.
The meeting addressed the issues of political, economic, trade and scientific-cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Mongolia.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the political interaction between the two countries in the issues of regional and world politics, including within the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as stressed that their economic and trade cooperation do not meet existing abundant opportunities and resources.
Thus, it was expressed interest in the establishment and expansion of further cooperation in the different economic spheres, including cattle breeding and industrial processing of its products like meat, milk, wool and leather.
The Mongolian side also highlighted its interest in the Tajikistani fruits and vegetables.
In connection to scientific and cultural cooperation it was underlined that the scientists and historians of both states should have access and work in each other’s archives, as they have still unexplored sources of medieval history.
A constructive talk was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
