Press Service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan
The Press Service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan (hereinafter the Service) is an independent department of the Executive Office of the President of Tajikistan.
The Service through the mass media is engaged in propaganda and agitation of decrees, orders and instructions of the President of Tajikistan, laws of the Republic of Tajikistan, resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the implementation of domestic and foreign policy of Tajikistan, contributes to the formation of a positive public opinion.
The main functions of the Service are information support for the activities of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the country through the preparation of official information materials, detailed reports and other information and analytical materials on the progress and results of the activities of the President and the Government of Tajikistan, as well as press conferences and media assistance in the preparation of materials.
The Service fulfills its functions in cooperation with other state authorities, public organizations and institutions, their press services and the media.
The specialists of the Service carry out constant monitoring of socio-political, economic and cultural processes within the republic and abroad, as well as coverage of the activities of the President and the Government of Tajikistan in the media and, if necessary, provide information to the management.
Sharifzoda Abdufattoh Abduvahhob

Sharifzoda Abdufattoh Abduvahhob, born May 26, 1959 in the village of Sangiston, Ayni district of the Republic of Tajikistan, nationality – Tajik, higher education, graduated from Tajik State National University, majoring in history, doctor of historical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In 1966 he entered the secondary school No. 19 in the village of Sangiston. After the 6th grade he entered the boarding school No. 2 in Dushanbe. In 1976, after graduating from the boarding school, he entered the Faculty of History of the Tajik State National University.
Following the graduation from the Faculty of History, TSNU, in 1982 he was sent to work as a teacher of history and social studies and the theory of state and law in secondary school No. 19 in Ayni district.
From 1983 to 1987 he was studying by correspondence in postgraduate study at the Tajik State National University.
From August 1985 to March 1989 he was the editor of the department of national bibliography, and from March to December 1989 – the chief bibliographer of the research department of the State National Library named after Firdavsi.
From December 1989 to October 1991 he worked as an instructor, deputy head, and then head of the ideological department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of Tajikistan. From October 1991 to April 1993 – head of the department of policy and culture of the Central Council of the Union of Youth of Tajikistan.
From April 1993 – Consultant-Chief Specialist of the Committee of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan on Science, Education and Youth Policy, from April 1995 – Assistant to the Chairman of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In February 2000, he was elected People's Deputy of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan and was approved as a member of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy.
In June 2000 he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Science and Education of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States.
From February 2001 he was elected Chairman of the Commission of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan for Deputy Ethics and Deputy Chairman of the Faction of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan of Majlisi namoyandagon. From 2000 to December 2004, he was a member of the Central Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
On February 19, 2003, by the Decree of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, he was elected Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy.
On December 15, 2003, by the order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, he was appointed Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
He works as part-time professor at the Department of History of the Tajik people of the Tajik National University.
In June 1989, under the Dissertation Council of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography named after A.Donish, he defended candidate’s thesis on the topic: "Higher Education in Tajikistan (1976-1985)", and in December 2000 under the Dissertation Council of the Tajik State National University he defended doctoral thesis on the topic: "The history of higher education in Tajikistan: experience and problems (the second half of 40's – the first half of 90's.)".
He has been elected a member of the Dissertation Council for the defense of thesis for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography named after A.Donish of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan and of the Dissertation Council for the defense of thesis for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences of the Tajik National University.
Sharifzoda A.A. is the author of more than 80 books and 150 scientific and popular science articles on the problems of education, higher education and the history of state independence of Tajikistan: "Higher education in Tajikistan"; "Historical experience of training specialists in the system of higher education in Tajikistan", "History of higher school of Tajikistan", "Higher education institutions in Tajikistan", "International links of higher education institutions of Tajikistan", "Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan" (in three languages), "Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan" (in two languages), Tajikistan-20, World-known Tajik, the Savior of the Nation, the Benefactor, and others.
Sharifzoda A.A. has also prepared and published autobiographical books, chronicles, historical and analytical works dedicated to the political activities of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, aimed at the development and prosperity of Tajikistan. Among them ("Emomali Rahmon – the Savior of the Nation", "Emomali Rahmon – the Founder of Peace and National Unity", "Emomali Rahmon and the beginning of a new stage", "Emomali Rahmon and the year equal to centuries", "Emomali Rahmon and the Year of World Culture" , "Emomali Rahmon and the Year of the Aryan Civilization", published in 2011 under the editorship of Academician Talbak Nazarov in honor of the 20th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan).
28 multi-series historical and publicistic video films have been prepared at the initiative of Sharifzoda A.A. and in co-authorship with him in honor of the 20th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. In particular, 20 films presented to the audience are devoted to each year of state independence, and the remaining 8 films reflect the activities of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the country in certain spheres of society: ancient history - "Tajiks", peacekeeping - "The Architect of Peace", state reform - "Emomali Rahmon – the Founder of Modern Tajik Statehood", road construction - "Emomali Rahmon – unifier of borders and hearts", energy – “Emomali Rahmon and energy independence", agriculture - "Emomali Rahmon and food security", education - "Emomali Rahmon – proponent of education", foreign policy - "Emomali Rahmon and the world community", as well as the two-part film "Emomali Rahmon – Man of Destiny".
He is one of the authors of the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Education" (1993) and the author of the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan" (2002), as well as the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Higher and Postgraduate Professional Education in the Republic of Tajikistan" ( 2003).
He participated and spoke on the problems of higher education in Tajikistan at the International Scientific and Practical Conferences in St. Petersburg (1996, 1999, 2000, 2001); Kiev (2001); Kaliningrad (2003) and Dushanbe (1983-2002), and also spoke on the topic "On the Peacekeeping Role of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon" at the international conference "Eurasia and Europe: Cooperation for a Culture of Peace and Human Development", Paris (2013). He is the participant of the 97th and 101st Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Seoul (South Korea) in April 1997 and in Brussels (Belgium) in April 1999.
He graduated from the two-week short-term courses of the US Information Bureau on Educational and Cultural Affairs on the topic: "Learning the experience of work of the US Congress" in Washington from June 1 to 15, 1996, Japan International Cooperation Agency on "The process of democratization and parliamentarism" in Tokyo and Kyoto (Japan ) from February 3 to 16, 2002, the Public International Organization of Great Britain on the theme: "Development of ethics and professional standards in the provision of society" in London from November 11 to 22, 2002, and a special program of trust to the Government of Australia on the topic: "Study of the public administration and public service of Australia" in the cities of Sydney and Canberra (Australia) from May 12 to 25, 2003, and received the relevant certificates of these courses.
For exemplary public service and effective public activities, by the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2002 he was decorated with the state award – the jubilee medal "10th anniversary of the XVI Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan" and in 2011 – the honorary title "Honoured Worker".
Married, has two sons and a daughter.
