Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the capital Victory Park in honor of the 71st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War has laid a wreath in memory of those killed in the path of freedom.

Defence Minister Sherali Mirzo has reported to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Emomali Rahmon on the readiness of soldiers to a wreath-laying ceremony.

After the performance of the national anthem, wreaths were laid in front of the eternal flame in honor of the victims of the Great Patriotic War. The solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held with participation of the management and members of the Parliament and the Government, the diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, veterans of war and labor.

First, Leader of the Nation, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country Emomali Rahmon laid a wreath and paid tribute to the heroes and the participants of the tragic war.

The Great Patriotic War is among the most tragic wars in human history. It should be recalled that more than 300 thousand envoys from Tajikistan showed courage and bravery in the fiercest battles of the war and 92 thousand of them lost their lives while fulfilling their filial duty.

The valor and courage of the people of Tajikistan in the war is the supreme example of patriotism and courage, lesson for present and future generations.

In honor of Victory Day wreaths were also laid on behalf of Majlisi Milli and Majlisi Namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, veterans of war and labor, diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, the security and defence forces, as well as the military unit of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the framework of his humanistic policy in honor of the 71st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as a sign of reverence for self-sacrifice of ancestors in the war in the name of freedom for future generations, ratified a decree №710 dated April 23, 2016 on the provision of one-time financial assistance to participants and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

On the basis of the decree of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, the Ministry of Finance has allocated from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan 1 million 278 thousand Somoni, i.e 2000 Somoni to each of the 639 participants and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
