Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Senior Minister of State at the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

The issues of political, economic, trade and cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Great Britain have been discussed at the meeting.

It was considered necessary to strengthen legal basis of relations between the two countries for their greater expansion, including the signing of submitted drafts of intergovernmental agreements on economic, scientific and technical cooperation, on stimulation and reciprocal protection of investments, on avoidance from double taxation, as well as on air communication. It was stressed that such legal and normative basis can leader to an unprecedented economic, trade and investment cooperation.

The enhancement of interaction in the fundamental areas of Tajik economy, including energy, transport and communications was named as promising.
